Modern Day 70’s Angel

Fashion trends can be so fleeting. One day something is in, the other day it’s no longer relevant. However, fashion repeats itself. Clothing styles from the eras before my time keep circling back. While some fads die, other classic trends come back to life and can eternally live in your wardrobe. When this happens, it’s a lesson in history and it presents opportunities to put your modern touch. Bell sleeves are that trend for me.

Although it can be seen back in the clothing during the 1800’s, it was that 1970’s showcase of bell sleeves that were the most fun for me. This top from Torrid that provided all the elements and angelic grace of a bell sleeve blouse. Embroidered patterns, mesh and airy white fabric. It helped me embrace a touch of fashion heaven and add some edge with my distressed ripped jeans. Fashion is a way to live your own version of the past times. It’s a self expression that tells the story of the clothes you love and how you feel inside. Plus size, petite or tall, we can all have our slice of heaven in the world of style. I’ve learned it’s about finding what works for you and your body –old and new.

This is…well “heavenly!” LOL! It’s actually funny, because a friend of mine bought a bell-sleeve shirt yesterday and I remember thinking, “Are those back in style?!” You make it clear that they are!
