How to Always Look Fabulous in Florals
Florals are one of my favorite prints but that wasn’t always the case. Now, especially during Spring, they replace my leopard prints and add some color to my wardrobe. Most of the time I wear a floral top but this Spring I am getting bolder and added some dresses to my wardrobe. For some people florals may seem to be “old lady” or “matronly.” Trust me I used to feel this way. I even avoided wearing them for a long time because I felt it was too much for me and my plus size body. Now, I beg to differ! I’ve changed my mind and think they are very fun, young and flirty. I learned that it is all about how you choose your florals and how you style them that makes the difference.
Here are 3 ways I learned to wear my florals and keep things fun, flirty and fabulous!
Choose smaller prints over larger ones.
Larger prints always seem to make me feel larger than usual. The smaller and closer together they are, the more flattering they are to my curvy figure.
Keep your accessories simple to not overwhelm your look.
Wearing a print is already bold and any large or extravagant jewelry throws things off. Go simple with your jewelry, bag or any other accessory and let your print be center stage.
Pick floral prints in colors you love.
The more you like the colors you are wearing, the more confident you will feel even in a print like floral. For Spring, I am going with bright colors that will make me stand out, but blend well together.
