Just Get The Heels!
When I first started my blog I was anti- heels. Lately, I’ve had a change of heart and wanted to challenge my style. When developing your style taking risks is part of the journey. It’s good to do things you normally don’t do even your shoe style. It’s always fun to scare yourself and embrace new ideas, experiences that can become part of a refined “you.” I’ve always been an advocate for challenging your style continually. Because what’s growth without change right? I wanted to crack the code with finding heels that work for me, my height and comfort level. First off, I want to be realistic and tell you that I won’t be wearing any stilettos yet! I still keep my height under 3 inches. However, I’ve gotten a bit higher than kitten heels. Thankfully the evolution of heels have created some better options than walking on stilts.
There are 3 things I suggest when venturing into higher heights with your shoe options:
1. Platforms are your pedestal.
They offer great height without the deep slant that causes extra pressure on the ball of your feet.
2. Blocked heels will keep you grounded.
Thin heels like stilettos can make you unsteady, while thicker heels offer more stability.
3. Ankle support equals A+ security for your stature.
Whenever you are higher above the ground you want to make sure you are sturdy and supported in the event of any twists and turns while walking.
Always remember to consider the places you are going before you venture in your heels. I tend to wear them places where I won’t be walking long distances or standing too long. If you still want to rock them, just don’t forget some Dr. Scholl inserts for added comfort and a backup shoe that is just as classy.
