What Have You Done For YOU Lately?
I can’t say how stressful this past week has been. I gave so much of my time and energy for others that I have totally neglected myself. This week I barely ate on time, kept my hair in order and putting absolutely put zero effort into my appearance lol. Stress has a way of taking over everything in your life. It upsets your balance, your stability and sets on you a dangerous path to exhaustion. Thank God for self awareness because when the end of the week came, I threw my arms up and told myself I had to get it together.
It seems that when you are such a person who gives and gives saying “Yes” to everything it can burn you out. There is power in saying “No” sometimes because it means saying “Yes” to the one person that matters the most, YOU. Honestly, what help will you be to anyone or anything if you are in a frenzy? So even if its 10 minutes out of that crazy day, do something for YOU. I learned that just taking an extra longer drive or leaving work a few hours early for some peace can help so much. So whatever it is that you are battling with for someone else, some job, some venture—Don’t forget to ask yourself–What have I done for myself lately? Thank yourself by being kind to that person you are staring at in the mirror. Take that day off, Watch 24 hours of Netflix, Get that frozen yogurt with the extra sprinkles..It doesn’t matter. DO something for yourself. You deserve it! 🙂
